Laser Hair Removal Process
Our specially trained Laser Specialist performs hair removal by disabling hairs that are in their active growth cycle at the time of treatment. Several treatments are necessary since other hairs enter their growth cycles at different times. Hair removal is commonly done on the upper lip, chin, ear lobe, shoulders, back, underarm, abdomen, bikini area, thighs, face, neck, arms, legs, hands, and toes.
Laser works best on pale skin and dark, coarse hair. The closer you are to this combination, the better the results will generally be. Every single hair may not be removed from an area with the laser, so some people may need to follow up with electrolysis treatments for any additional hairs that are too fine or blonde for the laser to effectively target.
Electrology is the science of permanent hair removal. A very fine probe or needle (which is disposable) is inserted into the natural opening of the hair follicle alongside the hair shaft. A small amount of electrical current is then applied to destroy the bulb or root of the hair. Treatment sessions can range from 15 minutes up to one hour. Our aesthetic division, Charleston Aesthetics, has a certified Electrologist on staff to perform this procedure. With the exception of inside the nose and ears or from a mole, hair can be removed from almost any location on the body.
